Deciding where to buy mulberries
The Dried mulberries are sourced from our organic project in Turkey, where we supply around 60% of the world’s consumption. Since 1994, when our first project was launched, mulberries have been harvested by our trained farmers who spare no effort in ensuring that not a single mulberry comes into contact with the soil. Once harvested, mulberries are dried in the sun then exported to every corner of the world.
Contrary to popular belief, mulberries do not grow on a bush; they grow on a tree. The mulberry tree requires little water and can therefore thrive in a variety of climatic conditions. While there are concerns regarding toxicity in the ingestion of unripe mulberries, the fresh mulberry remains a popular food item, particularly in Eastern countries. Not all countries, however, can provide the conditions for drying the fruit since the process requires prolonged exposure to strong sunlight and a humidity-free environment.
Brc Certified Processing
All our mulberries are cleaned, processed and packaged in our BRC certified facility. Our mulberries are certified organic under USDA and EU regulations..
Promoted by Dr. Oz in 2012 as a superfruit, the mulberry has been increasingly consumed and has enjoyed wider recognition from the organic food market. Its low glycemic index - which Dr. Oz identified as its most important feature - makes it an excellent snack for children and adults alike.
The mulberry’s uniqueness also stems from its resveratrol content. This antioxidant increases the body’s resistance to free radicals and reduces leukocytes in the blood. The mulberry’s beneficial properties were known in the Near and Far East for centuries where it was traditionally used as an antiseptic to heal wounds, particularly in the mouth.
